William "Snooter" Vanarsdale Sr. passed away at the age of 68 on May 9, 2016 at his home in Bel Air, MD. He was born in Trenton, NJ to Iva May (Stanford) Skillman of Joppa and the late Charles William Vanarsdale. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served our country in the Vietnam War. He later worked for the C&P Telephone Company for 27 years as a Telecommunication Specialist. He was a life member of both the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and Fallston Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of the Abingdon VFW Post and the American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Vanarsdale is survived by his wife of 37 years Diane L. (Birkmaier) Vanarsdale; sons, William Vanarsdale Jr. of Fallston and Jeremy S. Vanarsdale and wife, Melissa, of Bel Air; brother, Charles Vanarsdale and wife, Judy, of Havre de Grace; sister, Joyce Skillman Johnson Miller of Joppa; and grandchildren, Jordyn Grace Vanarsdale, Katherine Grace Vanarsdale, James Scott Vanarsdale and Joseph Scott Vanarsdale.
