William Michael Bennett Sr., 76, of Bel Air, MD passed away on October 3, 2017. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of John L. Bennett Sr. and Catherine (McBride) Bennett. Bill grew up in Baltimore City and attended St. James Catholic School. He was active in the Yankee Rebels Alumni Association and played softball with the F Troop. Bill retired from the Baltimore Sun after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Bennett and their eight children, William Bennett Jr., Debra Bennett McKenzie, Timothy Bennett, Kelly Bennett Lample, Patricia Bennett Sandroni, Cynthia Rowlands, Brian Cosgrove and Karen Cosgrove; brother, John L. Bennett Jr.; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Donations to the American Breast Cancer Society are encouraged instead of flowers.
