William "Billy" Edward Medley, Jr.

November 25, 1963 — March 30, 2024

William E. Medley Jr., age 60, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on March 30, 2024, at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, Maryland with his family by his side. Billy, as he was known to family and friends, was born on November 25, 1963, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, to Jean Cross and the late William E. Medley, Sr.  He was a 1981 graduate of Edgewood High School. He most recently worked at Smiths Detection and had previously spent most of his working career with Johnson Controls, Inc.
Billy loved animals and took in many unwanted animals over the years.  He will be deeply missed by his furbabies, but especially by his beloved Chloe, who never left his side.  Billy’s favorite place was the Virginia mountains where he enjoyed hunting and spending many childhood summers at his grandparents’ farm.  He also leaves behind his large Virginia family whom he loved dearly.
Billy is survived by his wife, Holly, with whom he shares almost 30 years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Adam Medley, his daughter, Amanda Medley, and his “second son” Colton Pieper. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Harold and Jean Cross; his stepmother, Joan Medley; sister, Donna Dulski (Rick); stepsister, Nikki Cross (Jake); stepbrothers, Erik Fletcher and Andrew Fletcher (Kim); and his mother-in-law, Stella McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Medley, Sr. in 2017.
As a testament to how giving Billy was, he expressed his wishes to be an organ donor and his donation through the Living Legacy Foundation will enable others to receive the gift.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Humane Society of Harford County, 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, Maryland 21047.
