William ''Bill'' R. Herndon

WILLIAM “BILL”R. HERNDON, age 72, of Edgewood, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on January 15, 2003. Born in Amonate, Virginia, he was the son of the late Garnet Gray and Bessie Mae Barker Herndon. He had retired after 30 years of service at APG as an engineering technician. He was the president of the Harford Cecil County Bowling Association. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He enjoyed camping trips with his family. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Herndon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye Baldwin Herndon; four daughters, Sue Barlow and her husband, Mick Barlow of Joppa; Debra Hazlegrove and her husband, Dane Hazlegrove of Matthews, North Carolina; Linda Barbor and her husband, Rick Barbor of Elkton; Anita Dodge and her husband, Wayne Dodge of Edgemere; one brother, James Herndon of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one sister, Ruth Stinson of Lusby, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Bill Barlow of Edgewood; Amanda, Sarah, and Clint Hazlegrove of Matthews, North Carolina; Jessica Simmons of North East, Maryland; Richard and Katie Barbor of Elkton; Stacey Magness of Bel Air; Wayne and Tammy Dodge of Edgemere; four great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jonathon Barlow of Edgewood; Kalei Files of Edgemere; and Alexis Barlow of Edgewood. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Joyce Magness; and one sister, Betty Stanley.
