The world lost a true original on October 20, 2025, when Wilbur Martin Reeling, 79, passed away peacefully in Forest Hill, Maryland.
Born in Baltimore to the late Donald James and Eleanor (Wolf) Reeling, Wil was never one to color inside the lines. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he brought that same fearlessness and independence to every chapter of his life. Guided by boundless curiosity and an artist’s soul, he could spot beauty in just about anything.
An abstract artist through and through, Wil saw the world as a living, breathing composition — and he treated it that way. His beloved Fells Point rowhome became a work of art in itself, a vivid reflection of his creative spirit, once featured in The Baltimore Sun for its daring design and unmistakable Wilbur flair. His paintings, full of color and motion, found their way into galleries and the hearts of those who saw them.
When he wasn’t creating, he was in motion — behind the wheel of a fast car, in the kitchen crafting something delicious, or surrounded by friends, music, and creativity. He lived generously and never missed a chance to tell a good story or offer a piece of hard-earned wisdom.
Wilbur is survived by his devoted daughter, Honor Dundore; his loving grandchildren, Beau and Genevieve Dundore; and his son-in-law, Adam Dundore. His spirit lives on in their creativity, wit, and endless curiosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to honor Wilbur’s legacy by finding beauty in the unexpected, sharing something handmade, or simply living life with bold color — just as he did.
