Obituary

Wayne Douglas Renninger, 73, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. He was born in Mifflin, Pennsylvania, to the late John Bruce Renninger and the late Phyllis Marie (Romig) Renninger.

Wayne was the beloved husband of Melodie Renninger, with whom he shared more than 24½ years of marriage. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His family was his world, and he especially loved his wife and the time they spent together.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Melodie Renninger; sons, Brian (Kim) Renninger and Jeffrey (Heather) Renninger; Curtis (LeighAnn) Renninger and stepson Thomas (Ann) Bradfield, grandchildren Katelyn Lopez, Kara (Boyd) Bryant, Brian, John, Grace, Jeff (Sadie), Brianna, Landon, Kinslee, Justin, Dominick, Riley, and Rocco, step granddaughter Paige Bennett, and great grandchildren, Christopher (CJ) Mateo, Waylon Lily, and Lane Bryant. He also had a special love for his beloved grand-dogs.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his stepdaughter Kimberly Bradfield.

Wayne had a deep passion for hunting deer. He loved nature and the outdoors and took great pleasure in feeding the wildlife around him, including deer, raccoons, birds, squirrels, and other creatures. He also enjoyed sports, especially following the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles.

Wayne and Melodie loved to travel together and made many wonderful memories throughout the United States. They also enjoyed traveling to The Bahamas and Bermuda, and Wayne went on many cruises with his wife. Their travels together provided them with countless cherished memories.

Wayne was a heavy equipment operator for York Building Products for 49½ years before retiring in 2019. He was a Sunday school teacher and was a member of American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air and the Eagles Gun Club. His faith, family, love of the outdoors, and time spent with those he loved were important parts of his life.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. His love for his wife and family, his passion for the outdoors, and the many memories he created with those he loved will remain in their hearts forever.
