Walter Edward Hunt III

Walter Edward Hunt, III, age 62, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Walter Edward Hunt, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Lane) Hunt.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Hunt and Richard Hunt.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Skaarer-Hunt; his daughters, Ashley Hunt, Brianna Hunt, and Carley Hunt; his grandchildren, Hassan Robinson and Kaylee Paden; his mother, Mary Hunt; and his sisters, Mary (Scott) Sporre, Anne Hunt, sister in-law Amy Hunt, Sandra (James) Crouse, Dr. Christina (Kevin) Dixon, Noel Hunt, and Karen (William) Miller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Walter was a dependable man, who believed in hard work. He dedicated over 40 years to the grocery industry. Walter was a devoted husband and father, who showed his love not only through his words, but also through his actions. Walt found joy in caring for his garden, tackling new projects, and perfecting his cooking skills in the kitchen. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Baltimore Ravens, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Baltimore Orioles. The holidays brought out his joyful spirit, whether in costume or making his house the most festive on the block. The beach was Walt’s happy place, where he found peace and relaxation.
