W. Bruce Grammer August 12, 1941 – March 14, 2026

W. Bruce Grammer, age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Born in Baltimore on August 12, 1941, Bruce was a man defined by his faith, his family, and his tireless spirit. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1963, he built a career in accounting and tax preparation, eventually retiring from the Maryland Insurance Administration in 2009.

Bruce was widely known as a devoted follower of Jesus and a dedicated family man. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, hunting, and biking. An avid photographer, he had a keen eye for capturing the beauty of the world through his lens and spent many years as a wedding photographer. Bruce also achieved his goal of completing two Baltimore Marathons.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Cheryl; his daughters, Denise (Tom) Callow and Stephanie (Lee) Jones; and a legacy of five grandchildren: Josh (Natalie) Callow, Dean McKenna, Will Callow, Sarah (Andrew) Campf, and Maggie Callow. He was also the proud great-grandfather to eight: Rilynn, Presleigh, Kamdyn, Gunnar, Simon, Paul, Norah, and Olive. He will be deeply missed by many loving relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dot Grammer, as well as his sister, Jo Churchill, and his brother, Dave Grammer.

A private service and interment will be held at a later date. In honor of Bruce’s generous spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Maryland Food Bank.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for your love, support, and prayers during this time.
