Obituary

Virgie “Dolly” Neubeck, age 89, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Forest Hill.

Born in Abingdon, Virginia, Virgie was the beloved daughter of the late Tammie Greer and the late Alice (Stamper) Greer.

Virgie shared a remarkable 71 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Charles A. Neubeck. Together, they lovingly remodeled an old house and made their home in Forest Hill, where they lived for 43 wonderful years, creating countless cherished memories with family and friends.

Virgie embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She was a wonderful cook who rarely relied on recipes, preparing delicious meals that brought her family together around the table. She enjoyed antiquing and yard saleing, always delighted by the thrill of discovering a unique treasure. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Michael, and Steven, and simply going for rides in the car. She also treasured the time she spent with her siblings, especially their trips to play the "one-armed bandits" at the slot machines, creating memories filled with laughter.

Professionally, Virgie worked for NV Homes as a Selling Assistant in the model homes, where she took great pride in helping families find just the right home to meet their needs. Her warm personality, caring nature, and genuine desire to help others made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Virgie truly lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.

In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her brothers, Weldon Greer and Clemon Greer, and her sisters, Eva Edwards, and Patty Bowen.

She is survived by her loving sons, Kirk Neubeck, Kenneth Neubeck, and Keith Neubeck; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Neubeck and Steven Neubeck; and her sister, Mary Hruz. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
