Velma "Babes" Jones

Velma "Babes" Jones, age 78, of Street, MD, passed away on December 23, 2014 at her home. Born in Perry Hall, MD, she was the daughter of the late Norman Parlett Sr. and Sabina Summer Burton Parlett. A graduate of Kenwood High School, she worked for 40 years at Mercantile Bank where she was a Vice President. She was a fan of stock car racing and enjoyed canning vegetables and attending blue grass festivals. She loved her family and friends.

Mrs. Jones Is survived by her husband of 57 years, John J. Jones Jr.; daughters, Robin Lynn Dixon and husband, Barton R. of Street and Kimberly Ann DeMarr and husband, Phillip, of Pylesville; brother, Leroy Parlett of Aberdeen; sisters, Marie Dillworth of Kingsville and Eleanor Dillon of Aberdeen; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Norman Parlett Jr., Charles, Linwood and Vernon Parlett.

Pallbearers are all grandsons and great grandsons.
