Obituary

Timothy Arthur Harney (“Timmy”) of Fallston, Maryland passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humor, loyalty, and deep devotion to those he loved most.

Born on April 2, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland, Timmy was a proud Marylander through and through. He graduated from Towson High School and went on to complete four years of trade school, laying the foundation for a career built on skill, integrity, and dedication. He became a master plumber and later served as Vice President and part owner of Tharco, a family mechanical contracting company where he worked alongside loved ones and built a respected reputation in the industry.

Timmy shared 46 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janine Harney, the love of his life and constant partner. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a proud father to Erin Bryant and Kaitlyn Vaughn (husband John Vaughn), and the most devoted “Poppie” to his cherished grandchildren, Richard Bryant, Joseph Bryant, and Zoe Vaughn, who were the light of his life.

A lifelong fighter, Timmy was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 11 years old and faced the challenges that came with it with strength and resilience. Despite a lifetime of health battles, he never let them define him. Instead, he poured his energy into providing the best life possible for his family—sending his daughters to Catholic school, supporting their passions, and always showing up when it mattered most.

Outside of work, Timmy found joy in coaching youth sports and giving back to his community. He served as a soccer coach with the Barrens Soccer Club for many years, where he was known for his enthusiasm, humor, and commitment to the kids he coached. He had a natural ability to make people feel supported and valued, whether on the field, at work, or at home.

Timmy had a deep love for music and was a true rocker at heart. He played in a band called The Crosswinds, and it was through music that he met Janine in a story their family will always treasure. He was also a passionate car enthusiast, a die-hard Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan, and someone who never missed a chance to share a laugh or tell a story—often more than once.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Thomas F. Harney Jr., Carol Lynn Albanese, and Kathleen Merani, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.

Timmy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. Harney, and Carolyn P. Harney, as well as his best friend Tom Honaker and other beloved family members who welcomed him home.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kitty Corbitt, whose selfless kidney donation gave Timmy seven more precious years with those he loved, including the gift of being an active grandfather to Zoe. Her generosity will never be forgotten.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father, the best Poppie, and a man whose humor, strength, and love left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
