Thomas Scott Kelly Sr., age 69, of Darlington, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Darlington, he was the beloved son of the late Robert Joseph Kelly Jr. and Ann Scott Kelly.
Tom was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving children: Kristina (David) Kennedy, Angela (Roger) Reeves, and Thomas (Alison) Kelly, Jr. He was the proud grandfather of nine cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild: Iszac, Wendy, Cole, Madison, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Ethan, Tessa, Peyton, and Khloee. He is also survived by his dear brothers William (Lois) Kelly and Robert (Mary Ella) Kelly.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann McCarron and Susan Burchette.
Tom's life was a remarkable testament to resilience and faith. After a car accident left him a quadriplegic 44 years ago, he faced every day with a positive spirit and a loving heart. Despite his physical limitations, he was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. His unwavering faith and ever-present smile were symbols of his enduring optimism.
He loved his family deeply and found his greatest joy in spending time with them. Tom took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, often sharing and preserving family photos as treasured memories. A lifelong sports fan, he especially enjoyed attending Orioles and Ravens games and loved all sports. He was also a dog lover, especially devoted to his late dogs Shamus and Missy.
Tom lived in the city for over 30 years with his caretaker and companion, Mary Jo Oliveri, and was known for his independence, strong will, and loving nature. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and faith that will continue to inspire his family and friends.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
