Thomas Cavillio, Sr.

Thomas Cavallio, Sr., age 81, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He was born in Essex, Maryland, and was the beloved son of the late John Cavallio and Rose Cavallio.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his six siblings.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sandra Kay (VanMeter) Cavallio, whom he married in 1966. He is also survived by his loving children, Paige Cavallio Frost and her husband Greg Frost, and Thomas Cavallio, Jr. Thomas was a proud grandfather to Cameron Cavallio and a cherished great-grandfather to Camden Simms. He is further survived by two siblings.

Thomas dedicated many years of his career to General Motors, where he began working in 1968. Outside of work, he greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, shooter, and bow hunter. He also loved relaxing at home watching television and especially enjoyed dancing, with the jitterbug and cha-cha being his favorites.

One of Thomas’s greatest passions was breeding beagle dogs, a pursuit in which he found great pride and success, earning numerous trophies over the years.

Thomas will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his many hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life.
