Theresa Anne Poznaniak, age 78, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late William Francis Lewis, Sr. and the late Theresa Anne (Hiebler) Lewis. She was the devoted wife of Kenneth Joseph Poznaniak, with whom she shared a lifelong love story after knowing each other since the 7th grade.

Theresa was a proud graduate of Seton High School. She worked as a secretary, both legal and for the Army at EA-APG, then later with Harford County Public Schools. Theresa found joy in life’s simple pleasures and especially loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, and dinner theaters. She also loved dining out at restaurants, attending IronBirds baseball games, shopping, gardening, and playing bingo. Above all, Theresa adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Joseph Poznaniak; her devoted daughter, Karen Michelle (Douglas) Jalufka; her cherished granddaughters, Jennifer (Stacey) Dixon, Rebecca (Chris) Hash, and Jessica Boyd; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Kohlton Dixon, Ember Dixon, and Ada Dixon. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Rosemary Mitchner, Robert (Luisa) Lewis, and Susan (Richard) Wade; along with many loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin Poznaniak, and her brothers, Michael Lewis, William F. (Karen) Lewis Jr., Kenneth (Dr. Mary Ellen) Lewis.
