Obituary

Tammie Michelle Gunther, 54, passed away peacefully in Bel Air, Maryland on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 20th, 1971, Tammie lived her life in Bel Air, Maryland where she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and Gamma to her grandkids. Her family meant the world to her.

The daughter of John Vincent Traband and Constance May Traband, Tammie leaves behind her husband, soulmate, and best friend just shy of 36 years, Bill Gunther, and their children, Julie, Billy, Kasie, and Brody.

She has the utmost love and passion for her beautiful grandchildren, whom she was all so proud of: Haylie, Josh, Sebastian, Oliver, and Vincent. Her entire life, Tammie dedicated herself to nothing but her family.

Tammie also leaves behind her mother-in-law JoAnne Gunther, sister and brother-in-law Melissa and Mike Hall, and niece and nephew, Allie and Tyler.

She was very proud to start a business in the school transportation community with her husband in Harford County Maryland. She spent decades behind the wheel as a school bus driver and a proud owner, safely transporting children and forming countless friendships along the way.

Those who knew Tammie will remember her strength, determination, love for her family, and passion for Disney. Tammie loved camping with family, going on cruises with her cruise buddy Bill, her grand pups Gunner and Barkley, but most of all, the yearly huge celebration of Christmas. Tammie prepared year-round for the special holiday.

Tammie continued to fight even when life became difficult. She endured more than most people ever knew, yet her greatest happiness remained the people she loved, always putting family before herself every day of her life.

Tammie wasn’t simply Bill’s wife—she was his best friend, his love, and his life. Together they built a lifetime of memories, raised a beautiful family, built a successful business, weathered life’s hardest moments, and shared a bond that will never end.

Her children have lost their mom, her grandchildren have lost their Gamma, and Bill has lost his lifelong companion and best friend. Everyone who loved Tammie has lost someone special who can never truly be replaced.

The love Tammie gave, the memories she created, and the loving life shared with her family will remain with them forever.

We will love you forever, My Tammie, Gamma, Tamma.

To the stars, to the moon, to the belly button.

Until we meet again, you will always be with us.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Tammie and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers, and come celebrate her life Friday, August 28th at 6 p.m., Rockfield Manor, Bel Air, Md.
