Stephen Lee Vaughan

Stephen Lee Vaughan, age 68, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Bel Air. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Leland Olas Vaughan and Dorothy Dean (Anderson) Vaughan.

He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Terry Vaughan, and the devoted father of Samantha (James) Dougherty. He is also survived by his brother, Lowell Vaughan; sisters-in-law, Patty (Joe) Bontz and Sue (Bill) Wunder; brother-in-law, Brian McDermott; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Karen Hutslar.

Stephen was a lifelong member of the Bel Air Church of the Nazarene, where he served faithfully as a Sunday School administrator and took great joy in organizing church activities such as Helping Hands, food deliveries for those in need, and Christmas caroling. His dedication to service reflected his caring heart and love for others.

He loved spending time outdoors, especially camping across the country and visiting the beach. A passionate Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan, Stephen’s enthusiasm for his teams matched his great sense of humor and easygoing personality. Known for always joking and bringing a smile to those around him, he was a kindhearted man who would do anything for anyone.
