Shirley Ann Dagostin December 3, 1942 — March 3, 2026
Shirley Ann Dagostin, age 83, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 3, 1942, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to Nelson Brugger and Anna Marhelko.
At just 17 years old, Shirley met the love of her life, Frank Dagostin. They were married on May 4, 1963, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 55 years. Shirley attended cosmetology school and became well known for her generosity, often offering haircuts and perms to family, friends, and neighbors whenever they were needed.
In 1967, Frank and Shirley settled in the Homestead Village neighborhood of Bel Air, where they raised their four children. Shirley was a deeply involved and well-loved member of the Bel Air community and a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church. She also worked at John Archer School as an aide, supporting students with disabilities with compassion, patience, and care.
Shirley enjoyed reading, playing bingo, visiting the casino with friends, doing puzzles, and watching her favorite soap operas and game shows. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren—especially cheering them on from the sidelines of playing fields.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Sherry and Nick Mastromanolis; Lisa and Rusty Fleming; Frank and Beth Dagostin; and Scott and Jenni Dagostin. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Daniel Fleming; Abby and Zack Tidmore; Sean Fleming (fiancé, Kate); Manny and Nicci Mastromanolis; Andrew Mastromanolis (fiancé, Miranda); Jackson Dagostin; and Landon Dagostin.
Many have shared the same sentiment: Shirley was truly loved by many. She was a second mother to countless friends of her children and left a lasting impact on their lives. Her home was always welcoming, and there was always an extra seat at the dinner table.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Senator Bob Hooper House, or St. Margaret’s Church.
Following the burial, the family will be having a luncheon at McFaul Activity Center, 525 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014 at 1:00 pm.
