Sally Anne Duke, age 77, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in Bel Air. Born in Ticonderoga, New York, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Patrick Logue and Alma (Garfield) Logue.
Sally was the beloved wife of Michael Duke, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. A dedicated and passionate teacher, she touched many lives through her years in education.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Duke; her daughter, Bethany Macomber, and her husband Zachary; her son, Jeff Duke, and his wife Katie; and her cherished grandchildren, Lily Macomber and Lyla Macomber. Sally is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Heins; and nieces and nephews: Joshua Heins, Jacob Heins, Rachel Cheney, Hannah Martin, and Mary Heins. She also leaves behind many beloved great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wayne Patrick Logue Jr.
Sally had a zest for life and a heart full of love. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, sharing the love of Jesus with young children. She found joy in the simple things—baking cookies and pies for her family, tending to her garden, creating beautiful scrapbooks and handmade greeting cards, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She loved having them over for sleepovers and always did special things with them like full tea parties and trips to the aquarium. You would often find her cheering on the sidelines and attending their events. She especially loved watching them in the Christmas parade. Sally made all of the holidays extra special for everyone around her. She had a special love for the beach and treasured moments spent by the ocean. Her grand-dog, Huggles, held a very special place in her heart.
