Ruth Maddox

Ruth Maddox, 97, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away on August 27, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland.

Born on September 10, 1926, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ruth was the daughter of the late Percy and Viola Hamlin. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert B. Maddox. Ruth had a passion for gardening and found joy in planting flowers, which she lovingly tended. Ruth also enjoyed shopping, collecting various items and telling stories about her younger days. 

Ruth is survived by her son, Ronald Maddox Sr.; her grandchildren, Christina (David) Sills, Brandy Maddox Smith, Ronald Maddox, Jr., and Matthew (Samantha) Maddox; her great-granddaughters, Sierra Sills, Arianna Sills, and Alazay Maddox; her great-grandson, Lukas Maddox; and her great-great-grandson, Weston Allison. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son, Robert E. Maddox and her daughter-in-law, JoAnne L. Maddox. 

She will be fondly remembered for her love of family, the stories she shared, and the beautiful flowers she cultivated in her garden. Ruth’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
