Ruth M. Meritis

RUTH M. MERITIS, age 64, of Joppa, MD, died on January 24, 2006 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Robert and Anna May Bliven of Glen Burnie, MD. She was a cosmetology teacher for the past five years at the International Beauty School in Bel Air. For many years, she owned the Golden Curl Salon on Baltimore Street in Baltimore. She loved traveling to Greece to visit her family and spending time at her cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meritis is survived by her husband of 50 years, Alexandros Meritis, of Joppa, MD; one son, Michael J. Meritis, and his wife, Mitzie, of Joppa, MD; one daughter, Flora M. Tomczewski, and her husband, Steven, of Bel Air, MD; one brother, James McFillin, of Bel Air, MD; and six grandchildren.
