Ruth Eleanor Grund, age 96, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland.

Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Henry Hermann Runge and the late Josephine Catherine (Keidel) Runge.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Bergen County, New Jersey and lived in Wyckoff since 1959. She was a graduate of Teaneck High School and a longtime parishioner of Advent Lutheran Church in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Ruth was also an active community and church volunteer. She enjoyed celebrations and visits with her family, a good meal, and traveling the world.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Grund and her first husband, Alexander Hryncewich, Jr.; her brother, Henry Runge and her sister, Eleanor Powley; her step-daughter Diane Grund; and her son-in-law, Brian Streaser.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nancy Streaser; her sons, Alexander Hryncewich and wife Catherine, and James Hryncewich and husband Rev. Dr. John Paul Davis; step-daughters Susan Terris and Deborah McGurk and husband Michael. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott Streaser and wife Jacqueline, Jennifer Streaser and husband Brendan Weber, Mary Shimkaveg and husband Scott, John Hryncewich, Jacqueline Hryncewich and husband Ryan Delaney and Christine Hryncewich and husband Corey Hensley. Ruth had five great grandchildren, Natalie Streaser, Nathan Streaser, Isabel Shimkaveg, Wyatt Shimkaveg, and Jasper Delaney.

Memorial services will be held at Advent Lutheran Church, 777 Wyckoff, NJ on Friday, April 17th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advent Lutheran Church.
