Russell Warren Lichtenberg

Russell was the son of Robert and Betty Lichtenberg born in Baltimore Maryland

He was a loving brother to Patricia Scuito, Barbara Merritt, Bobby and Dave Lichtenberg predeceased by brother Steve

Russell was the spouse and heart of Joanne for over 43 years and the proud Dad of Bethany and Brad Elliott, Andrew and Krista, Ben and Katie, Sam and Megan Lichtenberg. Truely his greatest joy was being PopPop to Nolan, Flynn, Rosie, Ava, Andi Lynn, Logan, Delilah and Ryleigh. His family was his heart, and he made that clear to all of us all the time.

Redman was proud to serve as a Baltimore City EVD/Firefighter for 34 years, retiring in November 2020

Even though we had hoped for more time to enjoy more Papa Russ adventures, we are grateful for the time we had. He has left us that fiercely loved him with a treasure trove of memories to lighten our hearts.

The next time you set sail in a boat, go crabbing, throw a fishing line, hop into a golf cart, sit down to a card game or visit a casino, snap a Natty Light and remember him fondly. The next time you find yourself trail hiking, biking, walking the beach metal detecting, scratching that scratch off or going Saturday yard saling to hunt for the ever-elusive treasure, take to heart the memories shared.

We have been the gift of so many to remember him as happy, funny, loving and so very loved.

In lieu of traditional services the family will celebrate Russell’s career as a Firefighter and honor him at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial ceremony in Colorado Springs. A private family and friends memorial celebration is planned for the fall.
