Ronald Joseph Swatski, age 75, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, with his family by his side. Born in Danville, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Leonard Joseph Swatski, Sr. and Cecilia Rita (Wojcik) Swatski.
Ron grew up in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Bloomsburg State College. After college, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ron worked as a supervisory chemist for the U.S. Army Public Health Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, retiring as Deputy Chief of the Laboratory Analytical Division after over 35 years of service. One of his proudest work accomplishments was chairing a chapter in the Multi-Agency Radiological Laboratory Analytical Protocols (MARLAP) manual.
Ron enjoyed gardening, model railroading, and woodworking. He also gave back to his community by serving for 10 years on the Harford County Forestry Board. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always willing to help others.
A devoted husband, father, and brother, he is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Kirsch) Swatski; his cherished daughter, Sarah Swatski; his brothers, Leonard Swatski, Jr. and David Swatski and his wife Rebecca; his brother-in-law William Kirsch and his wife Dorothy; his sister-in-law Patricia Kirsch, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM at McComas Family Funeral Homes in Bel Air. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
