Ronald C. Kampes, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Street, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late William Frederick Kampes and Catherine A. (Yeagy) Kampes.
Ronald was the beloved husband of Ida Virginia Kampes (Van Daniker), who preceded him in death. Affectionately known as “Ginger,” she remained the love of his life for over 68 years.
A proud veteran of the National Guard, Ronald was also a longtime member of the AARP in Madonna and a member of the Pioneers (C&P Telephone). He dedicated many years of service working for C&P Telephone, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon. In his leisure time, Ronald enjoyed watching old movies, a pastime that brought him great comfort and joy.
Ronald was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott William Kampes II.
He is survived by his loving children: Mark Kampes (Brenda), Scott Kampes (Sandy), and Julia Todd (Chris). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: April Lloyd, Bryan Kampes, Nicholas Kampes, and Kenny Todd, and his adored great-grandchildren: Rhys Lloyd, Coltyn Lloyd, Cooper Kampes, and Preston Kampes.
Ronald will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his years of faithful service, and the quiet joys that filled his life.
