Ron Billingsley, age 79, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ronald was the son of the late Thomas Billingsley and Helen (Thompson) Billingsley.
Ronald proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. He dedicated many years of service to the Baltimore City Police Department, where he rose through the ranks and retired as a Lieutenant. Following his law enforcement career, he continued his public service with the State of Maryland, working in various positions until his retirement in 2000. Never one to fully slow down, Ronald later owned and operated a private driver’s education program until 2004.
Ronald was married for 51 years to his devoted wife, Karen Billingsley (Abramovske). He enjoyed spending his time sitting on the front porch as the unofficial “neighborhood watch,” riding motorcycles, and sharing his days with his beloved cats.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Billingsley, and his sister, Genevieve Bosley.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by nephews Jim Franz, Tim Bosley, Mark Bosley, Jeff Blievernicht, Mike (Jenny) Blievernicht, and Robert (Amy) Abramovske; nieces Erin Blievernicht, Toni Abramovske, and Nicole (Ryan) Kieras; as well as brother-in-law Bob (Luann) Abramovske and sister-in-law Marlene Blievernicht.
