Obituary

Roger Lee Yeaton, 60, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Roger was the beloved son of Catherine Joyce (Pitt) Yoka and the late Roger Lee Yeaton. He graduated from high school in the summer of 1983 and carried with him a warmth and loyalty that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Roger had a lifelong love of classic rock, and those close to him could often find him lost in his favorite songs. A devoted Baltimore sports fan through and through, he followed the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens with great enthusiasm, taking particular pleasure in studying their statistics and following their seasons over the years. Roger also worked 15 years at Burger King.

Roger was also a devoted member of Saints Mary Episcopal Church for over 20 years, where he found faith, fellowship, and a sense of community.

Some of his most cherished moments were the simple ones—monthly trips to the movie theater with his mother to enjoy the latest scary films, and evenings spent playing board games with her and his great-niece, Gemma. These traditions reflected the kind of man Roger was: loving, devoted, and happiest when surrounded by family.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Roger Lee Yeaton; his sister, Tina Yeaton; and his brother, Brian Yeaton.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Joyce Yoka; his brother, Lenny James; his niece, Angela Yeaton; his nephew, Ralph Felter; his great-niece, Gemma Felter; his aunts, Marie and Nina Park; his cousins, Anne Marie, Marla, and Kimmie; and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.

Roger will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
