Robert J. Stolba, age 82, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Born in Maryland, Robert was the son of the late Frank Stolba and Eleanor (Ruotolo) Stolba. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce Stolba.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Kathryn “Kay” Stolba (Gough); his loving daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Golob, Alyson (Scott Cuevas) Stolba, and Megan (Brad) Raybourn; his devoted sisters, Barbara Delaney and AnnMarie Pax; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A proud graduate of Edgewood High School, Robert went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Maryland. His career spanned more than 25 years at the Government Accountability Office (G.A.O.) and 5 years at the National Security Agency (NSA).
Robert was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—his family was his greatest passion. He was an avid golfer, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and a true family man who loved grilling hot dogs, enjoying Matthew’s Pizza, and cracking crabs with loved ones. He had a talent for making the best Manhattan and the most fantastic egg nog and was known to be an excellent dancer. He especially loved family vacations and created countless treasured memories over the years.
He and Kay retired to North Carolina, where they lived for nineteen wonderful years before returning to Maryland. His warmth, humor, and love of life will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake at John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122
