Robert Phillip Sellman, age 87, of Bel Air, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Bel Air. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Wade Hampton Sellman and Viola Blanche (Walker) Sellman.
Robert proudly served his country as a veteran. He retired from Bethlehem Steel and later enjoyed working for Home Depot, a job he truly loved. Remarkably, Robert was never sick a day in his life—never even experiencing a cold or a headache—and he was proud to have kept all of his own teeth. He lived a very active life, enjoying weightlifting, hiking, and fitness. He also loved working on cars, whether it was changing the oil, washing, or handling maintenance, and he spent time playing cards.
Robert was known as a character—kind, gentle, and liked by everyone. Though admired by many, his heart belonged only to his beloved wife, Lynda, with whom he shared over 40 years of love and devotion.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Sellman; daughters, Demetriss Sellman and Theresa Lowry; son, Timothy Garrett; and brother, Henry Sellman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, Wade Sellman, and mother, Viola Sellman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mt. Zion Church in Churchville, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
