Robert "Bob" Harris

Robert (Bob) Harris, age 100, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on April 3, 2023, at Hart Heritage Estates - Forest Hill, Maryland.

Born in Sparta, North Carolina, he was the son of Frederick and Myrtle Harris and husband of the late Inez (Perry) Harris. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob served in World War II and the Korean War. During his duty he earned a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and was awarded a Purple Heart for being injured in the line of duty.

Bob was a man of few words but was known to have quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved animals and spending time in his garden. When he wasn’t cheering on the Orioles you could find Bob in his favorite chair watching Old-time Westerns on television.

Bob is survived by his son, Steven Harris, and wife Terrie Harris of Forest Hill, MD; daughter, Sheryl Williams and husband Milo Hall of Las Cruces, NM; two grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Harris of Forest Hill, MD; two devoted neighbors, Louise Ferguson, and Leon Anderson both of Edgewood, MD; and many other dear relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia in the coming months.
