Robert Francis Grant Sr., age 84, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Fallston, Maryland.

Born in Fallston, Maryland, Robert was the beloved son of the late James W. Grant and the late Esther Louise (Terry) Grant.

Robert was a remarkable man of many talents who lived a life centered around family, hard work, service, and helping others. A graduate of Bel Air High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an aviation structural mechanic. It was during his time in the Navy, in 1965 in California, that he met his beloved wife, Bonnie L. Grant. They quickly fell in love and were married the following year. Together, they built a loving family and shared many cherished years.

Bob devoted 50 years to Green Contracting Company as a superintendent, where his strong work ethic and mechanical abilities were put to good use. He was a true “Mr. Fix-it” and was always willing to put his knowledge and talents to work for others. He worked alongside his son for more than 12 years, teaching him not only the skills of the trade but also the dedicated work ethic that Robert valued so deeply.

Bob was a family-focused man who loved his family dearly. He was especially proud of his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather and was known as one of the most thoughtful Pop-pops. He always kept Popsicles on hand for his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Family gatherings were particularly important to him, and he enjoyed cooking out on Sundays and serving as the head cook for family events.

A man who believed in giving back, Bob was a member of the Bel Air Moose Lodge and the American Legion and gave generously to his churches. He regularly donated food to people in need and was always willing to provide guidance, knowledge, and assistance to those who needed it. He coached girls’ softball, farmed, and enjoyed teaching others, especially family members, how to can vegetables from the garden.

Bob enjoyed many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He loved gardening, going to auctions, and collecting clocks, with a special appreciation for grandfather clocks. He loved his Labrador Retrievers and enjoyed watching the squirrels fight over peanuts. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his family. He also had a tremendous, sweet tooth and was always happy to indulge in his favorite sweet treats. Bob even made homemade wine and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his efforts with those close to him. Bob could often be found in the garage enjoying a PBR and listening to country music. All were welcome to sit, talk, laugh, solve problems, or repair a piece of equipment.

Known for his humor, wit, and mischievous spirit, Robert could make those around him laugh and was always ready with a good story or joke. He was generous, caring, and thoughtful, and he took great pride in passing his knowledge and wisdom to others. He was especially proud when his great-grandson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, becoming the first in three generations of the family to return to military service.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie L. Grant; his brother, James Grant; his sister, Mary E. Teryek; and his nephew, Dennis Trice.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa A. Grant Aldao; his son, Robert F. Grant Jr (Sharon).; his grandchildren, April (John-Michael) Fava, Jennifer (Stephen) Grant, Andrea Grant, and Scott Sowards; his great-grandchildren, Allison (Tom) Clary, Matthew Clary Jr., John-Michael Fava III, Bella Fava, and Macie Fava; extended family Jacob Holliger, Sheena Adcock, Sierra Cullum and many more extended members and friends who will cherish his memory.
