On Thursday, March 5, 2025, we unexpectedly lost Rick Heyman, age 65, of Abingdon, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Rick was the son of Estelle (Highkin) Heyman and the late Marvin Lee Heyman.
Rick is survived by his loving partner of 37 years, Theresa Jacovitte, devoted sister and brother-in-law Denise (Howard) Snyder, his adoring niece Nicole (Michael) Long and nephew Ryan Snyder, his beloved stepchildren; his cherished role as Poppy; and a vast family of friends who became family. He was a proud friend to so many, particularly within the music community.
Rick had a deep passion for music, a love that led him to play in several bands, including Ransom, First Class, and Pure Gold. He also worked as a sound system engineer for Looney's Pub in Perry Hall and Hunt’s Memorial United Methodist Church. Whether in a band or behind the scenes, Rick took immense pride in his work, ensuring every performance was flawless.
A man of many talents, Rick also had a passion for web design and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan. Above all, he will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his warm presence, and his quirky personality. Rick's devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and his joy in life was evident to all who knew him.
Though he is no longer with us, Rick's memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter, warmth, and spirit will be deeply missed.
