Rich Valentini

Richard James Valentini, 80, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Baltimore. Born in Baltimore City, he was the beloved son of the late Nicholas A. Valentini and Barbara Helen (Cihlar) Valentini.

Richard was the devoted husband of the late Judy Lynn Valentini, and also preceded in death by his brothers, John Valentini and Nicholas Valentini.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years of his life to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

A devoted Catholic, Richard attended Mass every week and found great comfort and joy in his faith. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. He never missed a sporting event involving his grandchildren and could often be found cheering them on at their soccer, lacrosse, bowling, and volleyball games.

Richard loved to cruise and especially enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family in Ocean City. He looked forward to his Caribbean getaways and enjoyed the opportunity to relax and enjoy life with those he loved. He was a loyal fan of the Ravens and Orioles.

Richard had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He was known for being extremely kind, funny, with a larger-than-life personality. His warmth and genuine care for others touched countless people in his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Eric) Davison and Shannon (Donald) Licato, and his grandchildren, Chase Licato, Nathan Licato, Delaney Davison, Blair Davison, and Charlee Licato. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and best friends.
