Rena Pontidis

On September 11, 2022 heaven gained another angel, Rena Pontidis, 74, passed away at her home in Maryland. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece on May 7, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Pantelis and Chrisoula Ioannou.

She came to America where she met and married her loving husband of 47 years Spyridon Pontidis. Together they raised of family of 5 wonderful children. She loved being around her family, cooking for her family and going on cruises. She loved being active in her church on Sundays as well as participating in singing in her church choir as a lead soprano.

She was preceded in death by her first born, Julie. She is survived by her loving husband Spyridon Pontidis; her 4 sons, George and his wife Kelly and their children Niko and Lexie, Lazaros and his wife Stephanie and their children Spiro and Mario, Pantelis and his fiancée Ericka, and Alexandros and Panayiota and their son Spiro; granddaughter Katrina and her fiancé Will; sister Emmy Karras and her 2 daughters Chrisa and Doreen.

She was loved by many extended family members and friends as well. Her memory will be forever lasting.
