Obituary

Reginald Mathew Pough, affectionately known as “Little Guy” or “Mat,” departed this life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 36 in Edgewood, Maryland. Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Reginald was the beloved son of Cheraye Pough-Freeman and the late Reginald Mathew Festus, as well as his bonus father Matthew Freeman.

Among the many milestones in his well-lived life, he graduated from American National Business College with his associate degree in network engineering and went on to work as an IT Analyst where he obtained numerous certifications and qualifications.

Reginald was a devoted father whose world centered around his children. He cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was fishing, swimming, visiting parks, traveling, cooking– especially grilling and smoking meats, he truly did it all. A proud American dad, he took great pride in raising his children and providing a loving and supportive home. He never missed an opportunity to attend and celebrate his children’s karate and dance performances and loved going on adventures with them.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including playing video games—especially Smash Brothers—and was an enthusiastic fan of Batman. Known for his laughter and warmth, Reginald loved spending time with family and created lasting memories with those he held dear. Whenever Reginald walked into any room– he immediately brightened it up. He had such a goofy, bright personality and was surrounded by nothing short of good energy. He was the life of the party and his positive outlook on life often helped guide his family and friends through their struggles and triumphs, showing that all was going to be well and that everything would fall into place. Reginald was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Pough; and his aunts, Orpha Pough and Sharon Pough.

He leaves to cherish in memory his loving children, Ava Pough, Roman Pough, Dayyan Seraaj, and Amir Seraaj; Vernelle Sanders whom he shared children and a lasting friendship with; in laws Danielle and Derrick Clemons, Jaylen and Justin Clemons, his brother, Rahsaan Pough and his partner Erica Turner; sisters A'Shante' Pough, and Siobhan Rolingson; his grandmother, Daisy Pough; his nephew, Jovan Moore; his uncles, Bruce Pough, Conway Pough, and Kevin Pough; his aunts, Alisonn Pough and Yvonne Pough; god-sisters Kristy and Karenna Thomas, best friends; Manny, Garrett and his two god-daughters Hadley and Gemma and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

To know Reginald was to truly love him and he will be missed dearly.
