Raymond Joseph Agnello, age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Born in New Britain, Connecticut, Ray was the beloved son of the late Joseph Ciarcia Agnello and his late wife Estelle Kubas Agnello.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Halladay Agnello.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Cheryl Agnello; his son, Raymond Agnello, Jr.; (Carlee Agnello); his grandchildren Brooke Neiser (Victor Neiser Jr.); Danielle Agnello, (Daniel Barry), his great grandchildren; Victor Neiser III, Layla Neiser, Theodore Barry; his brother, Ken Agnello (Patty Agnello); and his sister, Patricia Diorio.
Ray was a proud graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He began his career as a Plant Manager for U.S. Gypsum in Boston, Massachusetts, before relocating to National Gypsum in Maryland.
In 1973, Ray became the franchise owner of Humphries Pest Control. Under his leadership, the business evolved into Harford Pest Control and ultimately became HPC Enterprises, Inc. He now has a fleet of trucks, office and warehouse in Harford County. Through his innovation and dedication, the company became the first in the Delmarva region to offer waterproofing services and termite pre-treatments for new home builders, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Ray had a lifelong passion for music. He loved playing his guitar and singing. He was an active member of the Bay Country Gentlemen in Bel Air, Maryland, and the Chorus of the Chesapeake in Dundalk, Maryland, where he performed until his illness. He also enjoyed singing with his quartet, Calliope. Ray's happiest moments were spent with his beloved wife, Sandra, enjoying their free time together at their condominium in Ocean City, Maryland. There they loved boating, fishing, riding their bikes and Happy Hour.
Ray will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, his love of music, his love and dedication to his family, and the lasting legacy he built through both his business and the friendships he cultivated over the years.
