Philip P. Patel

Philip Patel, 56, beloved father, loving husband, and dear son, painfully left us on May 16, 2023. He passed while surrounded by his loved ones. He was a gentle, spiritual soul who cared deeply for everyone and everything around him; he spread joy and happiness wherever he went. Philip held a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Master’s in Computer Sciences from New Jersey Institute Technology. He was widely knowledgeable and enjoyed engaging in intellectual conversations with others. 

He loved his family intensely and would regularly surprise them with new games to play together. Philip would frequently call his loved ones to keep in touch. He always took the time to listen to what was happening in their lives, their favorite hobbies, and the newest TV shows. He and the family dog, Newton were inseparable. They loved to spend time relaxing and basking in the sun together. His interests included playing chess, tennis, making chai at odd hours of the day, and giving Newton an unhealthy amount of treats. Philip will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone close to him. 

Philip is survived by his wife, Parul Patel; daughter, Ami Patel; son, Sagar Patel; father, Purushottam Patel; mother, Sharda Patel; his dog, Newton Patel; sisters, Prity Patel and Neelam Patel; his nieces, Arya Patel, Anika Patel and Shivani Patel; and mother-in-law, Kokila Patel. He was preceded in death by father-in-law Vadilal Patel.
