Philip Edward Welzenbach

March 20, 1928 — January 3, 2014

Philip Edward Welzenbach, age 85, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on January 3, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Edgewood, he was the son of the late Philip Adam and Annie Christina Bearsch Welzenbach. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served as a Major during the Korean War. A resident of Harford County his whole life, he lived on the family farm in Edgewood and was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He was also a member of The Reserve Officers Association and the Edgewood American Legion. He was truly an outdoors person who loved to talk park and woods, travel in his RV and go boating.

Mr. Welzenbach is survived by his longtime friend and companion, Joyce M. Sexton of Magnolia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gertrude E. Parks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Mr. Welzenbach to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1100 Philadelphia Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
