Paul A. Hutchins

January 21, 1933 — April 3, 2024

Paul A. Hutchins, aged 91, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home. Born in Yadkinville, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Alvis and Ossie (Edwards) Hutchins. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, H. Carolyn (Boggs) Hutchins.
Paul proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He spent his formative years on a dairy farm in Churchville, cultivating a deep connection to the land and a strong work ethic that would define his life. He also worked for several years at the Post Office where he retired. A lifelong member of Bel Air Church of the Nazarene, Paul found solace and strength in his faith. In 1958, amidst a blizzard, he exchanged vows with his beloved Carolyn in a memorable ceremony at the very church that held a special place in their hearts.
Paul's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and his devotion to their well-being. He cherished his role as a father and grandfather, finding immense joy in the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His green thumb was renowned among those who knew him, as he tended to his garden with passion and skill, yielding bountiful harvests of both vegetables and flowers. Additionally, he found fulfillment in woodworking and had a lifelong passion for model trains.
Solid as a rock, Paul was a pillar of strength for his family, offering unwavering support and guidance. His exemplary character and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul is survived by his loving sons, Thomas Hutchins and Randall (Lisa) Hutchins; daughter-in-law, Cathy Thompson; grandchildren, Holly (Davey) Belt, Samuel (Chrissy) Hutchins, Jonathon (Lisa) Hutchins, and Josh Hutchins; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Troy, Savannah, Colton, Claire, Jonny, and Catherine; brothers, Roy (Mary Ann) Hutchins and Donald (Frances) Hutchins; sisters, Ethel Rose and Edith Miller.
