Patrick Joseph
Moro
Mar 17, 1959 — Jun 2, 2026
Patrick Joseph Moro, age 67, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Pat was the beloved son of the late John Anthony Moro and Emma Teresa (Flacche) Moro and was one of six boys in a close-knit Italian family. Patrick was a proud graduate of Calvert Hall High School, Class of 1978.
A faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Pat dedicated much of his time to serving others. He was a familiar face at church bingo nights, often stationed in the kitchen, apron on, serving food with a smile and a joke. His kindness, generosity, and steady willingness to help weren’t just traits—they were the way he moved through the world. He was the kind of man who could often be found walking the neighborhood picking up trash, simply because it needed doing. Those who knew him felt it, and they won’t forget it.
Pat was an exceptional cook, beloved for his seafood chowder and meatballs — recipes his children and grandchildren will deeply miss at the family table. He enjoyed a cold Miller High Life, and he met life's hardships with a quiet grace that his doctor once told him he needed to complain more. He was known for his green thumb growing a full garden on his deck and 10+ feet sunflowers out his front door with ease. A devoted sports fan, he faithfully cheered for Ohio State, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Baltimore Ravens. Pat also enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating, and fishing.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Eliza Moro, Suzie Moro, and Lydia Moro; his grandchildren, Kira Atkinson, Kylie Moro, Makiyah Mack, and Maleeah Mackey; his great-grandchild, Ky'lonne Matthews; and his brothers, John Moro and his wife, Catherine, James Moro and his wife, Michele, Gabriel Moro and his partner, Michelle, Anthony Moro and his wife, Charlotte, and Joseph Moro and his partner, Laurie.
