Patricia Ann Sappington, age 74, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Norman Bernard Belbot, Sr., and the late Anna Elizabeth (Widra) Belbot.
Patricia shared a loving marriage with her husband of 54 years, James Bryan Sappington, Sr. She was a devoted wife and mother whose love for her family was unmatched. A perfect homemaker and excellent hostess, Patricia found great joy in caring for the people she loved and creating a warm and welcoming home. "Additionally, with her mortgage and banking background she was well equipped to manage administrative and financial aspects of the family business."
Patricia was an exuberant lover of life. She especially enjoyed spending time at the beach, with cherished memories made in North Carolina and Ocean City. Above all, her family was the center of her world, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her son, James (Kristen) Sappington, Jr.; daughter, Elizabeth (Bradly) Tinker; grandchildren, Jonathan Sappington, Emma Sappington, Madison Tinker, and Mathew Tinker; brother, Norman (Lois) Belbot, Jr.; sister, Brenda (James) Blaney and sister-in-law, Sandra Michaels; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
