Oscar P. Delacruz, 81, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Aberdeen.
Born in the Philippines, Oscar was the beloved son of the late Avelino Delacruz and the late Benita (Pasion) Delacruz.
Oscar was the devoted husband of 55 years to Elizabeth Aquino Delacruz. He was a loving and proud father to Ricky Delacruz, Arnold Delacruz, and Joyce Delacruz. He was a cherished grandfather to Ann, Alex, Ricca, and Keanu. He is also survived by his sister, Digna, and his brother, Rogel.
Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring in January 1998 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and was especially honored to serve on the Honor Guard, where he provided Military Honors to fallen veterans and comfort to their grieving families. Following his military retirement, Oscar continued his dedication to service as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2015 after 17 years of faithful employment.
In his free time, Oscar enjoyed going to the gym, watching WWE wrestling, and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens. He took tremendous pride in caring for his yard—always ensuring it was done his way.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Oscar’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the United Mail Carriers Association.
Oscar will be remembered for his deep love of family, his faithful service to his country and community, and the pride he took in everything he did. His legacy of dedication, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
