Oleman Dwyght Smith

Oleman “Smitty” Dwight  Smith, age 87, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on July 13, 2023 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland.  Born in Galax, Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Esther (Crouse) Smith and husband of Joyce Ann Smith.  He had a true passion for automobiles.  In the past, he owned his own service stations, autobody and fender repair garage that he rebuilt wrecked cars/trucks, he especially enjoyed restoring his Ford Coupe. Prior to becoming ill, he enjoyed playing bluegrass music.  He was a banjo and dobro player. But most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family.

In addition to his wife, Oleman is survived by his daughters, Jean (Bobby) Caudill, Trina (David) Dowell, Sandra (Gary) Anderson, and Sheila (Bill) Bryan, and son Thomas Smith.  10 Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Fitzpatrick and Great-Granddaughter Lucy Scowden.
