Oakie Faircloth, age 104, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Bel Air, MD.
She was born in Rugby, Virginia, to the late Harrison Thompson and Nancy (Davis) Thompson. Oakie was united in marriage for 51 years to Arthur Darrell Faircloth, who preceded her in death in 1990.
She worked as a mail clerk at the Belcamp Post Office when it was in the Bata “Hotel” and later at its Route 40 location. She was a wonderful Southern cook and loved preparing meals for family and friends. She was a beloved member of Redeemer Community Church of White Marsh, affectionately known to many as “Miss Oakie.”
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by her loving family: her son, C. Patrick Faircloth of Aberdeen; two grandsons, Mark Faircloth and his wife Dawn, of Havre de Grace, and Michael Faircloth, of Bel Air; her great-granddaughter, Amber Winemiller of Paulsbo, Washington; her sister, Hazel Blackburn and her husband, James, of Independence, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
