Nelson Eddie Bell

Nelson Eddie Bell, age 88, of Street, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Born in Hickory, North Carolina, Nelson was the son of the late Kenneth M. Bell and Kate (Leatherman) Bell.

Nelson owned Bell Construction Company since 1973 doing siding and home improvement. He played saxophone with several different bands performing at many venues in Maryland and DC. He cut a record with the Flintstones Band. He enjoyed the beach with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Nelson enjoyed Atlantic City trips and Bingo. He liked fishing, skiing, boogie boarding, and tubing. One of his favorite things was taking walks in many different parks around Harford County with his wife and little dog. He collected coins and marbles for several years.

He was the beloved husband of Joan C. (Niemczyk) Bell and together they shared a long and loving marriage.

In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Bell, and his daughter, Cathy Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Bell; his children, David (Lauren) Bell and Sharon (John) Shanahan; and his stepchildren, Jacqueline Guercio, Russ (Shelly) Cress, and Jennifer (Jason) Busch.

Nelson was a proud grandfather to Kassidy Shanahan, Allison Bell, Steven Fischer, Ajay Bell, Flint Bell, David Cress, Kathryn Guercio, Joseph Guercio, Amanda Forrester, Nick Cress, Corey Cress, Ashley Busch, Ryan Busch, Kara Busch, Caden Busch, Chloe Busch, and Emily Busch, and a cherished great-grandfather to Price Kiracofe, Dallas Huber, Layla Forrester, Brandon Fischer, Breanna Fischer, Hailey Fischer, and Kaleb Baker.
