Nancy Neukam

Nancy Neukam, age 80, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on October 17, 2023 at Sterling Care in Bel Air, Maryland after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease for many years. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carmela (D'Anna) Vaccarino and wife of J. Thomas Neukam. 

Nancy met the love of her life in her teenage years and she and Tom were married in 1962 at St Anthony’s of Padua Church in Baltimore. They recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. She graduated from Towson University with a Masters in Library Science while raising her children.  Nancy retired from Harford County Public Schools in 2001, where she had been the librarian at Youth's Benefit Elementary School for 30 years. 

Nancy enjoyed golfing with her family and friends at Maryland Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed lunches with her “teachers” every month, book club with her neighbors, walking her dogs, and spending precious time with her grandchildren.  Nancy was a people person who loved serving others and whose laugh was contagious.  

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Susan (Patrick) McGeough; son, Larry (Jennifer) W. Neukam; 7 grandchildren, Connor (Kaitlyn), Patrick, Emma McGeough and Alex, Andrew, Aidan, Ava Neukam and sister, Ida Plaugher.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Joseph, Peter and Salvatore.
