Our beloved mother, Nancy Cecelia Costa, of Churchville, MD went home to Jesus on April 1, 2026 at age 75 after having precious time with her family by her side.
Nancy was born to the late Edmund and Ann Rubino on October 22, 1950 in Quincy, MA. She married Richard Costa after meeting where they worked in Medfield, MA. Together they went on to have daughters Laura and Rachel before moving to The Berkshires and later to Maryland.
Early in life, one of her favorite things was when the church started a bowling league. Every week she would grab her bowling ball and rush off to meet with her friends, she loved it. She loved her church family and was involved in music there in one way or another for 50 years. She was either in choir, singing groups, taking lessons or her favorite, singing beside her husband. Whether it was in church, to her daughters, with her grandchildren or just while doing housework, she was praising God. Even in these last difficult months she never forgot her favorite songs like, “Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Family Bible”, or her husband’s favorite song to sing, “It Had to Be Love”.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Laura Costa, of Darlington, MD and Rachel Costa of Abingdon, MD, grandchildren, Ashley, Anthony and Gavin of Darlington, MD, her precious sister Joyce Patterson of Medway, MA, as well as nieces and nephews who she all adored.
Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Nancy now rests in the arms of our Savior, free from pain, confusion and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty. She joins in Heaven her loving husband of 34 years, Richard Costa, her parents, Edmund and Ann Rubino and her beautiful sisters Judy Fleetwood and Janice Rubino.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 starting with a visitation from 5-6 pm, followed by a service starting at 6pm.
She spent her life caring for others and was blessed by the people God sent to care for her. We want to thank the amazing staff at Bel Air Assisted Living for their loving concern and care for our mother as well as the unbelievable support they gave to us. Although we only knew them for a very short time, we would also like to thank the precious staff at Gilchrist Hospice for easing this transition for her and for us and to the staff at Amazing Grace where her final journey started.
“I Can See Heaven”
I can see Heaven, I can see home
I can see clear, crystal rivers
Flowing from the throne
I can hear the Angels harmony
I can see heaven waiting for me
