Nancy Miriam Webster Cassilly, daughter of Joseph and Nan Poole Webster, died January 5th, 2026, at the age of 94.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Harford County and grew up in Perryman with her seven brothers.
A graduate of St. Stephens, she attended The College of Notre Dame in Baltimore until her marriage to Robert Cassilly, with whom she had 12 children.
Nancy and Robert started off in the tenant house on the Cassilly family farm in Belcamp. As their family grew, they relocated to Bel Air, to the big white house on Broadway, where she raised her 11 children, neighborhood children, many dogs and cats, pigs, sheep, ducks, birds, goats and one monkey.
On Broadway, the doors were never locked, and the table was never empty. Through her ingenuity and thrift, she kept her family, and many others, clothed and fed.
Nancy was able to adapt and rise to every challenge. She could repair anything from appliances to automobiles with her trusty Swiss army knife and duct tape. She taught herself many skills and excelled as a nurse, chef, baker, farmer, costume designer, gardener, woodworker, piano player; the list was truly endless. She was a Jack of all trades, and a master of many.
Nancy was as dedicated to her community as she was to her family. She orchestrated firehall, school and church dinners and town cleanups, cared for foreign exchange students, and was a quiet driving force in many more efforts. She was an example to all through her quiet leadership and service. She had the unique ability to nurture and make all who knew her feel loved and accepted.
Later in life, her spirit of adventure and passion for learning led her on many travels, from hiking Machu Picchu and The Camino de Santiago, to Italy, Germany and Nova Scotia.
Through many wars and other challenges, Nancy lived her faith and was a devoted member of St Ignatius church. She played the organ, worked on countless mission trips, Christmas bazaars, and other church functions.
Nancy is survived by her remaining nine children, 31 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her sons Micheal and Joe and daughter Becky.
