NANCY ALICE THOMPSON, age 72, of Edgewood, MD, formerly of Manchester, Maryland, died in Stella Maris Hospice, Towson, MD on October 28, 2003. Born in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Della Belle Gilliam Ferguson and the wife of the late Donald Thompson. She had retired after 15 years of service at Random House where she worked as a mail clerk.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by three sons, Noel Fritz Platzke, Jr. of Ocean City, Maryland; Robert M. Caldwell, Jr. of Salisbury; Richard M. Caldwell of Hebron, Maryland; one daughter, Linda Y. Harris of Edgewood; one step-daughter, Victoria Thompson of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Irene Meenach of Mansfield, Ohio; Lillian Magee of Portsmouth, Ohio; Monie Bentley of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; two step-brothers, Scott Thompson of Memphis, Tennessee; Randall Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, James W. Singletary, Jr.
