Nadine Holland Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 98. Born in El Paso, Texas on October 18, 1926, Nadine lived a long and meaningful life marked by faith, family, and a heart full of compassion.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert L. Jones Sr., who passed in 2007. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another and their children.
Nadine is survived by her loving children: son Rob Jones of Midland, Texas; daughters Bonnie Jones of El Paso, Texas; and Debbie Jennings and her husband David of Bel Air, Maryland. She was a proud grandmother to Lana Del Cid and her husband Rodrigo, and to Victoria and her husband Richard Huling. Nadine also leaves behind three cherished great-grandchildren—Jethro, Titus, and Kinsey—who brought her immeasurable joy in her later years.
A selfless and devoted mother, wife, and friend, Nadine was known for her warm heart and her fierce prayer life. She was a true prayer warrior, always putting the needs of others above her own. Her life was a reflection of her deep faith, and she found great comfort and fellowship at First Baptist Church in El Paso and when she moved to Maryland at Calvary Baptist Church in Bel Air. She attended bible study and worshiped at Calvary until her health no longer allowed.
Nadine had a zest for life and a mischievous spirit that brought smiles to those around her. She loved her family deeply, had a special fondness for chocolate, and found joy in the beauty of nature—whether in grand landscapes or the tiniest creatures. She was also a master at playing Jacks. Her wonderful imagination and gentle humor were treasured by all who knew her.
Nadine’s legacy is one of faith, kindness, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A private family service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you offer a prayer for someone in need, just as Nadine so often did.
