Michele Lynn Funk

Michele Lynn Funk (Bishop), age 53, of Delta, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Michele was born in New Jersey, the beloved daughter of the late Anita Catherine Bishop (Belanger) and the late Harold Francis Bishop. Growing up in a military family, Michele experienced life across the country in her early years—a journey that helped shape her generous spirit and strong sense of dedication.

She was the loving wife of Steve Funk, with whom she shared 32 cherished years. Michele was a devoted and proud mother to her son, Brandon Funk and daughter, Caitlin Funk. She was also a doting grandmother, finding great joy in her role within her growing family.

Michele’s faith was central to her life. She loved the Lord deeply and was very active in her church community. Her warm and giving nature touched everyone she met—always kind, deeply generous, and just the right amount of sassy when the moment called for it. She was a fiercely loyal friend, a committed professional, and someone who gave her all to the people and causes she cared about.

Michele enjoyed reading romance novels, had a deep love for animals, and her compassion and generosity extended to all living creatures. She will be remembered for her joyous outlook on life, beautiful smile, and contagious laughter.

Michele was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bishop, and her mother, Anita Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Steve Funk, her children, Brandon and Caitlin Funk, and her granddaughter, Brooke Funk. She is also survived by her sisters Diane Hawkins and Debbie Fleming, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In Lieu of Flowers: Contributions in Michele’s memory may be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research or the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Michele will be remembered as an amazing wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose heart was as big as her faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
